Lørdag 5. & Søndag 6. Nov kl. 14-19

The Plague Raves’ is a new multi-media exhibition by Luke Drozd that attempts to capture that increasingly boggy feeling of navigating through 'unprecedented times'. A confusing and dreamy mix explored through a similarly skewed audio-visual journey.

The core of the exhibition is a new sound collage and film work (made in collaboration with film-maker Greg Butler) that threads together field recordings, disembodied found vocals and amateur musical recordings. Echoes of the past in conversation with noises of today. Trudging lumpenly through investigations into superstition, ritual, folklore, unofficial histories and the struggles of navigating a world emerging from a global pandemic.
This work sits in conversation with new mixed-media sculptures inspired by ritualistic standing stones and talismans, a series of totemically daft mystical markers for a post-rave generation, perhaps.

This work was made possible through the support of Kulturrådet project support, Kulturrådet fond for lyd og bilde, Bergen kommune grant for electronic arts and the BEK residency programme.
