What has acted upon a guitar? What does the guitar retain, remember, and bring back with it?

Lisa Busby is a Scottish composer, vocalist, and improviser based on the West Coast of Scotland. Instrumentally she works with voice, turntables, hardware and software electronics, lapsteel, and electric guitar. Situated across experimental music, live art, and pop song, her practice often utilises the found and the prosaic, making interventions into existing sonic and textual materials; and manifests in various entangled modes – in performance video, non-standard scoring/notation, “anti-production” and other "un-techniques" for electronic music, live improvisation for sound/body, long-duration and site specific work. She performs and composes with band Rutger Hauser, and has ongoing collaborative projects with artists Jill Halstead and Lou Barnell.

Jill Halstead is a musician and writer. Her creative practice involves experiments with unsound instruments, electronics, film, installation and dance, often exploring the relationships between sound, the listening body and movement. She has ongoing collaborations with Lisa Busby and choreographer Beatrice Allegranti. Recent composition work includes a series of screen dances and live dance theatre performances exploring the social taboos of ageing and loss. She is professor at the Grieg Academy, University of Bergen.
