Ricarda Denzer & Karen Werner’s live Hörspiel is a postcard libretto as a score with a string, two speakers and Ontological Popsongs.

Score: Karen and Ricarda each write a postcard libretto as a score and mail it to each other on June 26 th. The postcards together comprise the score.

Structure: two independent interpretations of the same score

Ricarda Denzer is an artist living and working in Vienna. Since 2013 she is senior lecturer, currently at the Department of Art and Communication Practices, where she is member of the Angewandte Performance Lab /APL at the University of Applied Arts, Vienna. Her cross-media works - audio-visual research spaces - combine installations, editorial and curatorial work. She edited the eJournal #13 of the ZHDK Zürich (with Jo Schmeiser, 2016), curated the art project About the House and edited the books Perplexities (Revolver 2013) and Silence Turned Into Objects (edition NÖ, 2014). Recent solo exhibitions were at Kunstraum Lakeside, Klagenfurt (2019) and at Neue Galerie Innsbruck (2018). Most recently, she realised the Sounding Research Listening Session at the Angewandte and participates in the exhibition „Was Uns Wichtig Ist“, at the Volkskundemuseum, Wien (2022).

Karen Werner is a radio artist and sociologist living in Bergen, Norway, where she is an artistic research Ph.D. fellow at The Faculty of Fine Art, Music and Design (KMD). Karen’s radio art has been broadcast on community and public radio stations in North America, Europe and Australia and also includes sound installations and live performances. Since 2008 she has been on the Faculty of Goddard College in the U.S. Her art practice has been in partnership with organizations including Tonspur Kunstverein Wien, Kone Foundation, Memorial Foundation for Jewish Culture, Wave Farm, the Hemera Foundation and Bergen Senter for Elektronisk Kunst.  In Bergen, Karen has launched two radio stations: SkottegatenFM and Radio Multe 93.8FM.
