Presentation: GRIP – seize the tools of sound engineering

The development of our cultural scenes not only relies on creating a diversity of role models on stage, but also in production, sound engineering, and all other important roles behind the scenes. Sound technicians Irene Bjørke and Elaine Maltezos discuss their experiences of learning and now managing sound for live events and recordings in Norway, together with Eva Rowson, manager of Bergen Kjøtt.

This autumn, Bergen Kjøtt, BIT Teatergarasjen, Carte Blanche and AKKS Bergen launch "GRIP" - a new course series to offer practical experience and skills in sound engineering, led by Irene Bjørke. GRIP is open to everyone, with an emphasis on welcoming more women, non-binary and transgender people into sound technician roles in Bergen's cultural organizations
