"Moving Images" is a transdisciplinary performance in unconventional theatre spaces. The audience is invited into the space to experience the work in an integrative manner. Each audience member is free to make their own choices about how to see the work.
The performers started their creation process by seeing old photos and coming to the recurring themes of memory and loneliness. What we see in an image is dictated by the choices of the photographer, why that specific perspective out of many others. Also as each individual views an image, what they see is coerced by their unique experiences they carry with them. What is the subject of the image choosing to let you see, and what are they hiding?
How many times have you become part of someone else’s memory through a photograph, you may not realise as we see many people within the composition of a photo of someone's special moment. And at what point does the audience contribute to the composition of a performance? What happens as an audience member when the people in the image see you too?
Through raw, physical dance and a dynamic interaction, the duo takes the audience on an experience inside the picture. Via interactive elements and undefined boundaries between the audience and performers, they will together explore thoughts and reflections on their own situation and thus open up for dialogue around being lonely and vulnerable.
