An introduction to the basics of sound engineering! Get to know how a sound system works and how to create sound for live events!

This workshop is aimed at empowering anyone who wants to gain confidence in setting up sound systems, troubleshooting sound equipment and understanding technical language,.

Instructor: Martine Green (she/her):
Martine is a woman with a passion for music, sound and people. She is a multi-instrumentalist, vocalist and sound engineer with experience from Den Nationale Scene and has freelanced at many different venues since 2018.

About GRIP: GRIP aims to increase the number of women, non-binary and transgender sound technicians in Norway.

GRIP is a collaboration between Bergen Kjøtt, AKKS Bergen, BIT Teatergarasjen, Prøverommet, Carte Blanche and sound technician Irene Bjørke. GRIP is also organised with other partners in Bergen including Borealis, Landmark / Bergen Kunsthall, Østre, Kvarteret and Kulturhuset i Bergen and is supported by Sparebanken Vest, Kulturrom, Bergen kommune, apap-FEMINIST FUTURES (financed by the Creative Europe programme in the EU) and Balansekunst.
